I wasn't really planning on blogging tonight, but I just had to share a conversation I just overheard between Andy and Conner during the boys' bath.
Andy: Conner, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Conner: A cowboy.
Andy: What do cowboys do?
Conner: Ride on.....ride on....cows.
Haha. Well, that would make sense based on the name, wouldn't it Conner?

What a Snowy Week!
It's been quite the snowy week around here, and we've tried to enjoy it. Unfortunately, I think this was the first big snow storm where Daddy didn't at least get one day off to enjoy it with us! In fact, he didn't even get home one night at all because the weather was so bad! At least we know that they need him so much at work they put him up in a hotel so he wouldn't miss a day! Hopefully that says job security :) Anyway, here's a peek at what we were up to this week.
A successful snowman!!
Box sledding
Shoveling
Trudging through the snow
Snow ice cream :) Here's the recipe if you're interested: http://familycrafts.about.com/od/creativesnacks/r/icecrsnow.htm
Cold cuteness
This was before the second bang of the storm....when Scott could still actually walk in the snow.
And finally, Conner and I went to the dentist. It was a great visit and I'm happy to report we both have very healthy teeth with no cavities!

Me and My Little Brother
We loved each other from the very beginning, just me and my little brother.
I couldn't wait for him to get up so we could play together, just me and my little brother.
Soon enough, we started having lots of fun together, just me and my little brother.
We like to be crazy, just me and my little brother.
We love to read books, just me and my little brother.
We like to ride gators, big and small. Sometimes I let him drive.
But most of all we love each other, just me and my little brother.

Funny Ideas
I feel like I've been so out of touch lately! This week was pretty much absolutely crazy busy. I had a lot going on, but we should be more back on track next week! Anyways....I wanted to share a couple funny things the boys have been doing lately.
1. Just as I've grown my hair long enough to put in a pony tail, Scott doesn't let me do it. It's actually quite humorous. When I put my hands up to start putting up my hair, he says, "No, no, no" in a desperate sounding voice. I ask him, "You don't want me to put my hair up?" He says, "No" and is perfectly happy when I leave it down. Is he trying to tell me something???
2. Sometimes when Scott is napping Conner watches "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood" (brings back memories, huh?) One day, I heard him say, "Pick green, pick green, pick green" as Mr. Rogers was putting on his sweater at the beginning of the show. When he put on blue instead, Conner disappointedly says, "Ohhhhhhhh."
3. Just a picture:
I'm telling you, these boys and the things they come up with crack. me. up. :)

A Very Social Weekend
We had a busy (and fun) weekend. It started with Mommy's social activity. I tried Zumba for the first time (so fun!) with some great friends, then enjoyed a girls' lunch out. Then, Aunt Jenn, Uncle Bill, and Liam came over for football (unfortunately the Ravens lost, but we still had fun and enjoyed some great food!).
Sunday we went to church, then had brunch with Reagan, Reed, and family. They had tried this great little restaurant before, and we were just as impressed with it! Delicious! THEN, we had some other good friends over for dinner and playtime. The kids had a great time together and Conner enjoyed being the big boy of the bunch :)
Finally, today we went to a playgroup with some friends we haven't been able to see nearly enough lately! Scott is currently sleeping on my lap, and is working on a 2 hour nap (one in his crib, one on me) so I'd say we wore him out! Instead of getting frustrated I can't get anything done while he's napping, I'm enjoying this cuddle time. There won't be too much more time of him fitting on my lap like this so I'll enjoy it while I can!
Admittedly, I hardly took any pictures this weekend :( But here are 2 worth sharing.

Hat Day
Completely unrelated to "hat day" but had to share this picture where both boys just look genuinely happy. We were playing hide and seek, and I just found them. Love those faces :)

Snow Day!
This morning it just felt like a snow day. And we treated it like one. As a former teacher I can really appreciate a good snow day. Even though we weren't affected by schools being closed since Conner doesn't have school on Wednesdays anyway, we enjoyed it nonetheless. Here's a breakdown of the day:
We started the day by watching Daddy plow the driveway
Then we played in the snow a little
Did some shovelling
(this is the attempt at shoveling a snowman since the snow wouldn't really roll....didn't work too well)
Warmed up with some warm chocolate milk
And played with trains. Conner was s.e.r.i.o.u.s. about trains today. He insisted there be a "shed" (the Lego creation) and tunnels. At one point, when the trains kept going around the little circle he said we should call Bob the Builder and have him come fix the tracks. Scoop and the other vehicles could stay outside, and Bob and Wendy could come in and help us. It was pretty cute how animated he got about it all :)

Happy Birthday, Nana!
Wow, two birthdays in one week! We sure are lucky. Especially Conner, who thinks that every birthday is instantly a party :) Once again, we were lucky enough to share lunch and dinner with Nana on her special day. Conner also created another spectacular card for her and sang Happy Birthday. It was another great day :)
But never too tired to stuff an entire piece of fudge in his mouth!
Conner was pretty happy about "ressert" too
The boys love their Nana, and I must say that I don't know what I'd do without her either :)

Happy Birthday, Pop!
Today was Pop's birthday. We were lucky enough to help him celebrate at lunch and dinner.
First, we made him a card:
Then we spent some time with him:
We sang Happy Birthday:
And had a little pie mishap (Conner almost fell and caught himself with a hand in the pie - he was not too happy about it, but we all thought it was hilarious):
Pop is a very special man, and we are so, so very thankful for him!

Big Cousins
Today we spent the afternoon at Aunt Jenn and Uncle Bill's house for football and dinner. We had a great time, and the boys decided they were okay with this whole new baby thing, and could be the big cousins after all. They both wanted to hold the little cutie:
And Conner even decided he would help give him a bottle! I'm finding it hard to believe my boys are the BIG boys now. Sniff, sniff!

Happy New Year!
We spent this New Year's Eve, and the entire weekend with our good friends Uncle Andy, Aunt Jami, Leyna, and Cora, and Steve. It was wonderful. We had great friends, great food, and great times. For the first time since he's been born, Scott slept great away from home. In fact, on New Year's Eve, he went to bed at 6:15pm, and slept without a peep until 6:30am. Heavenly! Especially since I actually made it till past midnight to welcome in the New Year! Since the kids were in bed early, the adults enjoyed a relaxing, delicious dinner and played some games. The kids had a blast as well.
It was actually fairly warm on New Year's Day so we all packed up, bundled up, and headed to the park. It was really nice, but unfortunately I only got one measly picture. I'm sorry. I forgot the camera, and was wearing gloves with which I cannot use my phone camera. I know, these are only excuses, but enjoy this one picture anyway! Happy New Year :)
