Stir Crazy

Everyone let me know they needed to get outside today.

So, even though it was FREEZING out there, we bundled up and headed out for a little while. I think it was good for us all :)

Scruffy and a Special Email

We had a special visitor today.  Yesterday, Conner got to bring "Scruffy" home from school.  Scruffy enjoyed spending the day with us doing the various things we did to occupy ourselves on this rainy day.
He had snack with the boys this morning,

he helped them build towers,

he joined in the dance party (yay Christmas music!!),

and he helped Conner read a story.
And the boys got a pretty special email from Santa today.  It really made Conner's day, and Scott just kept saying, "Ho, ho, ho"
Here's the link to the site if anyone is interested in creating a video.  It was really cool!!

Mountain Kiddies

We spent the long weekend at Nana and Pop's log cabin in the mountains with friends Dan, Jami, Reagan, and Reed.  It was a great, relaxing weekend.  I'll recap in pictures and limit the words!

Our Thanksgiving #3 spread
We took a road trip to Cabela's.  Very cool store :)
Scott and Reed playing with the trains
Conner trying Pop's hat on for size.
We didn't let the cold weather keep us inside!
Conner and Reagan had a blast together all weekend long.  I'm so impressed with how well they got along.
Daddy and his boys
Family gator ride!
Conner loved to go fast and compared the gator to a roller coaster as we were going up and down the mountain.

The tent created by the daddies to keep the kids warm
Roasting GIANT marshmallows on the fire

Conner decided to save some for later ;)
Don't worry, there were no keys in the ignition!

The kids ate dinner early most nights and were ALL in bed by 7.  Really made for some relaxing evenings for the adults!  It was great!!
Reading with Daddy :)
It was a really great long weekend, and we thank Nana and Pop for giving us the use of the farm!

Daddy's Home

Today Daddy got home early.  It was nice.  I'm thankful for that......and that he's such a helpful, hands-on daddy.

For the next 5 days we will be without the Internet, so this is it for my daily blogging for a little while.  I hope everyone has an absolutely fabulous Thanksgiving.  I'll catch up when we return from relaxation to civilization!!

Conner :)

Tonight I will write all about my first born :)  Conner is growing up so much, and becoming such a little gentleman.  At last check, he weighed in at 38 pounds.  Today I got to spend the morning at school with Conner for their Thanksgiving Feast.  I had so much fun being with all the kiddos and seeing what goes on in the classroom.  I can already tell he's going to be a super sweet boy who behaves perfectly for his teachers, and shows his true colors only around those he knows really well.  I don't mind this one little bit!

This is the outfit they wore at school for the Thanksgiving Feast.  They were all so cute!

I want to record what a few things he says because they're pretty cute:
  • A pony tail is a "roly tail"
  • An Oreo is a "chocolate cracker"
  • When Scott hurts himself, but seems okay, Conner says, "He's okay, he's a tough boy"
  • When there is an r in the middle of the word, since he has a hard time saying the sound he just kind of rolls his tongue a little.  For example, "brrrrrread"
  • When he tells Scott something he gets down close to his face and talks in a really quiet, sweet voice.  He always ends with, "Okay buddy?"
That's all I can think of now, so let's move on to some pictures :)

He recently learned to put on his coat by himself.  He's so proud :)
And I'll end the pictures with a funny face.  He was hiding it so I wouldn't get a good picture.  He's definitely not they ham of the family!

I love this kid, and I'm ever so thankful for him!

Scott! - UPDATED with stats

Tonight's post is all about my baby.  I'm so thankful for my second-born son :)  He's a cuddly, sweet, rambunctious mommy's boy.  I love the way he rests his head on my shoulder before nap time and bedtime, and the way he sometimes rubs or pats my back while I'm doing the same to him.  I love the way he wants to do whatever his big brother is doing.  I'm enjoying him at this age so much, and I'd love him to stay like this for a long time!

Today, we had his 18-month check-up.  He's very healthy, of course.  The doctor was impressed at how well he understood everything she asked him to do.  He's saying all kinds of things now, and is so fun to watch.  Now, for the fun part:  the pictures.

Took it like a champ - actually the band aids just made them all better :)

I just love this face :)
He was cluck-clucking with his tongue, then making this face.  Over and over again.

I realized I forgot to write Scott's stats from his appointment!  So, here they are:
Weight: 25lbs 4oz (50%)
Height: 32 3/4" (50-75%)
Head: 19 1/2" (90%)

Thanksgiving #2

I feel so lucky to have such supportive families on both my side and Andy's side.  Tonight, we had Thanksgiving with my side of the family.  We spent much of the afternoon watching football by the fire, then enjoyed a huge, delicious Thanksgiving meal.  It was a great evening full of family and fun :)

Sorry about the blurry picture, I was having camera issues for a little while.
Had to include the picture of the boys reading with Pop, though.  It's one of their favorite past times :)
Look at that spread.  Yum.
Notice the first two sitting at the table.  They were ready!

No cousins here yet.....but one is coming very very soon!
Can't wait for Aunt Jenn and Uncle Bill's baby :)
